Downloading 'MrSid' Images

Each of the products created for this image server is stored as a 'MrSid' file. These files may be imported into certain GIS software packages for further manipulation.
MrSid images may be dowloaded from the thumbnail browser page. 'Right Click' on the download link and select 'Save Target As' or 'Save Link As' to download the file.
OhioLINK does not endorse or support any products for using MrSid products.

Downloading Raw Images

The data used to create the web viewable images - i.e. 'Raw' satellite data - is available via FTP.   These files, in GeoTIFF format, are intended for remote sensing experts, geologists, and other researchers familiar with these data formats and applications needed to manipulate and view them.

For each scene there are 9 files that may be downloaded.     The smallest of these files, the two infrared bands, are 15 MegaBytes each.   The largest of these files, the panchromatic band, is 219 MegaBytes.   Other files are 55 MegaBytes.

Click on 'Download Raw Files' link after selecting a region of the state and a date. If the scenes is available for download, hotlinks will appear for each file. If not, you will be prompted to 'recall' the scene in preparation for FTP. On our servers the files will be prepared for FTP and the process may take up to an hour.
'Right Click' on a hotlink and select 'Save Target As' or 'Save Link As' to download the file.
